The artist image he manipulated.

desert-city-blast-alt
This was there finished image

This image was created and manipulated in Photoshop software.

In this image the artist has used the gradient tool on a mask layer, to take out the background they didn't want on there original image they also used a blur Gaussian to blend.
The artist added some objects to the image for example the rock to make the desert more interesting, so that the rock didn't stand out from the original image they used the overlay layer blending mode.
They added a sunset background, on a layer mask using a soft round brush they erased the bottom of the sky layer.
To make the sunset colour as vibrant as it is they used the colour balance option and the curves settings. They copy and pasted a distant city in a new layer using another mask tool the artist hid part of the city so that it was how he wanted it.

To make the "laser" the artist painted over the top of the city with with the paint brush tool with a soft round brush on a low opacity. With the Rectangular Marquee tool with about a 10px feather he made a selection and using the fill tool, filled it with white this made the light beam, to make glow around the beam he used the layer blending mode screen, inner and outer glow and selected the glow to be blue.
On a new layer they added a night sky of stars hid the part of the photo they didn't want with the mask tool, using the overlay blending layer mode using the paint brush tool painted around it slightly in white to blend it in and also used a radiant blur amount - 25 quality - good & the Zoom selected the artist did this twice to get the effect he wanted.
The artist added some lightning on a new layer and selected the paint brush tool with a large brush painted the top of the beam white making the top of the beam bigger, with lightning surrounding it the lightning was on a overlay layer blending mode.

Traditional

Artist- Anna Martindale aka Jinxiedoodle (deviant art account name)

This is a detailed pencil sketch of a World of Warcraft character - Blood elf Mage, this image includes a lot of shading in this drawing emphasising the detail even more.The Mage's eyes have no detail or shading they are almost pure white and glowing. This was done on purpose as Blood elf eyes glow green and don't have a lot of detail inside the eye but have a fair bit outside and around. The shading on the characters stomach gives the illusion its toned.
The artist may of used different grades of pencils for the drawing and shading of this image.

My choice
Artist - Kieran Morris.
Kieran Morris is a multi talented artist, this is a level concept as part of his BA game's work, the game that he and some others are in the process of making called Dub step guns.
This image is very detailed and shading in this image. I think the effort and time he has put into this has paid off. He created this image in Photoshop using the paint brush tool. Although I really love this image, Kieran feel he could have done better and there are parts he still need to work on to improve it.

My thoughts on this work;
I like the way that David Carson blends text into the images he uses so that only the text he wants to stand out does.

Banksy

About him;
Banksy is a English based graffiti artist, political activist & painter.

My thoughts on the film;
Although the film was meant to be about Banksy, it was more about the person filming it and had an obsession over recording with a camera.
The guy recording now known as "Mr Brainwash" must of annoyed a few artist as they spent most of there lives trying to make a name for them selves and Mr Brainwash emergened over night, some of the art work he didn't even do himself he just came up with the idea and had a team produce the product and create his work for him, witch to mean is an outrage, selling the artwork for a lot of money when he didn't even produce the work himself and it's silly he's become this fames just because he has the money to pay people to make his work and do his artwork for him.
Despite this I found it to be interesting but I wished it had more about Banksy and more footage of Banksy. Banksy seems to be very laid back guy, to me his artwork it humours and amazing, the way he does this images so quickly and preps everything so that it's as quick as possibly and he has less chance of getting caught.  Banksy used Graffiti as his art work.
He uses prints and cut out to spray over so that he doesn't have to free hand draw as if it's a complex image it would take time an he would be more likely to get arrested or fined. | love how some of his work is so simplistic and gets to the point.

my thoughts on his work;
I like the use of colour in his images nothing that this artist has produced is seen as dull to me. His give a feel of happiness to them.

Animation

Stop Motion also known as stop action.
An example of this animation -

Screen shots from the clip on YouTube;

This link shows a good example of stop motion animation, it uses a lot of post-it notes, the short clip is about a young man who has a deal line and is putting off working, the post-it notes create images on the wall showing you what he's doing at the desk but then the images start to prompt him to finish his work!

I find this clip funny and I can relate to the topic the clip is about as I am very prone to getting distracted from work by playing games and checking my emails or Facebook on the internet.

About the artist;

This artist who made this clip is called Bang-Yao Liu.
He is 26 years old
He lives in Taiwan
The artist has a website - www.bangyaoliu.com

His title for the website is Sticking Close to you. I think this title works very well, seeing as artist works with post-it notes for this material.
The images bellow are print screens of other art work this artist has done.

Other bits of artwork;

Patterns.
Website Background
Examples.

Good patterned background website.

Website example given to me already.
This is the website of Five Finger Death Punch a heavy metal band.
They're background is typography based, it looks almost like an old fashion letter that has been discoloured over time, making it look like it has some sentimental value to why they have kept it that long. This image was more then likely done on Photoshop, I assume they have used the gradient tool to give the image it's discoloured look.

Good textured background website.
This print screen is of the Superdry website a big branded cloth shop. Its background is textured rather then patterned,  I think the texture was inspired by a type of soft material found inside Jumpers or jackets, this to me makes me assume that all there clothing is soft as there background looks, making me watch to buy there clothing.

Bad example of a background.
This print screen is a plane background (white.) This boring background makes me feel uninvited and not want to stay on this website for longer then needed.

FF13 - Game research on process
The final fantasy game engine was unveiled as 'white engine' but later the name was change to 'Crystal tools' this was because white engine was specificity made for this game but was then  concept of the engine was changed to be able to adapt to other projects such as FFXVI, this is the reason for the name change. The maker of the game said that if they had know the things they do now they would have tried to improve on existing teratology rather then building a completely new engine.
Making the FF13 game for the Xbox360-  The creates of the game said that developing the game as multi-platform wasn't a difficult obstical as making the game engine they had making on different conceals in mind.

Evaluation of my work.

For my final peace I took influence from an idea Dan game me about using a newspaper template.

I went with this lay out because it makes it easier to incorporate the title and it would have a better effect then just a sequence of video clips, this was my first idea.
I had an idea to do a stop motion, I took influence from a film called the grudge, there is a scene when a woman climbs down the stairs and one of her traits throughout the film is to hang over the victim with her hair in her face and make a strange sound. I took this inspiration and did a shoot in my house of my friend with long black hair coming down the stairs, I took the images with my own camera in the way that she is moving from step to step with her feet flat on the ground, so she would move almost like a ghost. I created this stop motion in Photoshop and played with the timing settings to see what would look best.
My second video clip idea was to do a collage of work and things I had experimented with I did this by tweening in Photoshop making the image fade to a new one and so on.
My final video clip idea was to record me making something in Photoshop using Fraps (a soft wear that records your window screens and gaming screens)
I then decided that the easiest way to make this into a video was to create my clips individually and then create my final clip it into Premier. The problems I in counted where that I had never used this program before so I would have learn how to use it. I also found that if I just saved the file and I opened it back up again I would have to re-import my images the good this about using this program is that if I changed the original file I imported it would change the one in premier as well.
  In Premier I imported my files, which consisted of 3 clips and a background template.
I got a template of a newspaper from google, edited it in Photoshop by adding the title and making room for my animations.
In premier I had to crop and zoom my animations to make them fit to the space I had, if I had more time I would of added more text to the template to make it look more realistic and added headings, the reason I didn’t add titles now is that I didn’t have enough space to use the titles I wanted and fit them in the space I had made for them.
My planning helped me a lot when making my final peace, I produced a mind map and other people from the classes added and extended it giving me more idea’s. The story bored helped me work out how I was going to pan the background and what would look best, I decided then scrolling down would be the best option, this was done by tweening in premier and using the motion tool and playing with the positions  settings.
Another problem I encountered was the recording I had taken of me tweening in Photoshop opened as a sound file rather than a movie clip I had to convert the file to the quick time format rather the AVI.
I liked my final peace but I would of liked to of had the animations and clips fit better to the template I had made and added some music in the background.
